import a backing track from google drive on iphone

1. save the audio to files

1. In the Google Drive iPhone app, find the audio file and tap More, the three dots beside it.
2. Tap Open in, then Save to Files in the share sheet.
3. Choose a folder you can find again, such as a folder under On My iPhone, and tap Save. Wait for the transfer to finish.

These steps follow Google's iPhone download instructions. Menus can differ by app version. If exporting is unavailable for a shared file, ask its owner for a downloadable copy.

2. choose the file in memo track

1. Open Memo Track and tap Choose Track.
2. Browse to the folder where you saved the audio and select the file.
3. Check that its name appears under Backing Track, then press Play to check the import.
4. Set the playback level and position. Press Record when you are ready to capture the microphone take.

Have a different file selected? Choose Track replaces the selection. Remove Track clears it when you are not recording; it does not erase the original from Drive.

an alternative: show drive inside files

With Google Drive installed and signed in, open Files, choose Browse, then More and Edit. Enable Google Drive and tap Done. Drive can then appear under Locations in the file picker. Apple describes this in its Files cloud-provider guide.

A cloud file may still need to download before it can be imported. Saving a local copy first is useful when reception is unreliable.

if the file cannot be selected

• Use an actual audio file such as MP3, WAV, M4A, or AAC, not a Drive sharing link pasted into a document.
• Check that the download finished and the file is accessible in Files.
• A streaming subscription's offline download is not necessarily an exportable audio file. Memo Track does not unlock protected downloads or capture system audio.
• If it still will not import, contact support with the file extension, iOS version, and error message. You do not need to send your music.

what gets saved after recording

Memo Track saves the microphone take as an M4A. It does not digitally combine that take with the imported backing track. Speaker playback may enter the microphone acoustically; headphones reduce that pickup.
